Welcome to Historic Wales, the map enabled portal for historic environment information in Wales.
The portal allows simultaneous searching of hundreds of thousands of records relating to archaeological monuments, historic buildings and artefacts held by different organisations across Wales.
The first phase was launched in November 2006 and contained information from the National Monuments Record of Wales and the Archaeology Collection of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales. Since then information from the Welsh Historic Environment Records and Cadw has been added. From the beginning of April 2009 Listed Building descriptions will be available.
Historic Wales has been designed to work with Internet Explorer 6. Other browsers and other versions of Internet Explorer may not allow the service to work properly. We are developing the programme to enable it to work with more browsers but in the meantime we advise that it is used with Internet Explorer 6.
